Cocoa

Cocoa
The casual beach lifestyle found in Cocoa attracts about 24 million visitors a year. This narrow strip of island offers beautiful beaches, gorgeous hotels that fit any budget, and the famous Ron Jon’s Surf Shop, which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year…just like the beach.
Cocoa is unique because not only does it offer breathtaking natural views, but it is also the best beach to witness a shuttle launch from Cape Canaveral. Even though the shuttle launch pad is miles away, the powerful blast and the shuttle itself can be seen all the way down to the Treasure Coast. Cocoa Beach is an ancient land – at the Brevard Museum, human bones dating back 7,000 years are on display, as are what historians and scientists have gathered about these ancient peoples lives.
The Astronaut Memorial Planetarium and Observatory offers typical planetarium shows in addition to laser and music shows. There are exhibits on space programs and space exploration, and if you look through a telescope at night, an expert will explain to you exactly what you are seeing. This beach not only has its eyes on the surf, but also on the stars.
The surfing capital of the East Coast is also privy to whale migrations – if you are lucky, you can see these migrations or a pod of dolphins at play! You can also paddle around the Banana River Islands, or play some superb golf. The Cocoa Beach life will enthrall you!
